Advanced Lithography with Raquel Amat Parra
This course is focused on a experimental mark-making approach in lithogrpahy. Participants will learn the basics principlas of lithography and work with traditional limestone matricies. Previous knowledge of lithography is not required but would be advantageous, as would be knowledge of any other printmaking processes. Throughout the 6 week course participants will learn techniques such as crackle, image transfer, drypoint on stone, maniere noire and the registration of multilayer and colour prints.
This course is suitable for artists with drawing skills as well as for participants interested in experimental mark making. While some digital image processing will be covered, this course will focus on hand drawn imagery. Course participants will gain knowledge of chemistry as applied to printmaking thought these different lithographic methods. If you love drawing or painting in combination with digital/ photographic images this course will be an exciting learning experience.
