Open Call for writers

The Belfast Print Workshop Archive is a vibrant and energetic collection of fine art prints that includes artists working in Belfast in the 1970's right up to the present day - a range of techniques and styles are represented in a collection of over 1000 prints. To coincide with our 40th birthday celebrations we are inviting writers to choose one print or a selection to respond to. Writers can be coming from an art historical point of view or from a poetic/ creative writing angle.

Part of the archive is available to view on the website. If you would like to look at a larger selection of work digitally before applying this can be arranged. To be considered or to make an appointment to look at the digital archive please email: [email protected] before Sunday 27th August with the following:

  • Name and contact details
  • Short example of writing
  • Paragraph detailing why you would like to write about the archive

Six writers will each be commissioned for a piece up to 1000 words. These writers will be paid a fee of £100 each.
