Coby Moore

Coby has been a member of the Belfast Print Workshop since 1980.

Originally from Holland, Coby Moore trained as an illustrator at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague.

I appreciate the technique attached to the printing process. Drawing is important to me. When you move the drawn image to the plate something alters the image. When you then work the plate to the final image there is quite often something that makes the image not always what you originally intended, but often adds to the work. As a printmaker the opportunity to investigate new processes and combine these with traditional techniques is challenging and rewarding.  Inspiration is drawn from life’s experience, history, and the world around me.  Artists who I find inspiring are Carel Willink (Dutch painter), Georg Hadeler (Printmaker) and Dick Bruna (Illustrator).
