Coby Moore

Coby has been a member of the Belfast Print Workshop since 1981.

Originally trained in illustration my work is in small format and quite detailed. Drawing is important to me. My interest lies in traditional printmaking and I work mostly in black and white or a single colour. I appreciate the technique attached to the printing process. When you move the drawn image to the plate something alters the image. When you then work the plate to the final image there is quite often something that makes the image not always what you originally intended, but often adds to the work. As a printmaker the opportunity to investigate new processes and combining these with traditional techniques is challenging and rewarding.
