Covid-19 ANNOUNCEMENT - Studio Shut Down
The board have taken the very difficult decision to close the studio competley at 4pm on March 20th 2020. Closure to non-members is already in place, effective immeadiatly from March 17th 2020.
The government advice is to apply social distancing alongside stringent hygiene practices. Due to the nature of shared studio space and equipment, it is impossible for us to be able to keep the studio completely safe for use by all members. The well-being, health and safety of our membership and workers in the office and studio are our priority and as such we need to take these measures.
We have no re-open date at present and will take a lead from the government and medical advisors on accessing when it will be safe to do so. In the meantime some work will continue to be done remotely but this is limited due to the nature of our business. It's heartening to see how many organisations are being creative and digitising exhibtions etc. We need to think how we can still support our members and friends during this time in whatever small way we can.
We hope you all remain well and safe. We will share some practical updates on this page for artists but would urge you to also keep in touch with updates via the mailing-list and our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter)
Contact, [email protected] if you have further enquiries in realtion to the temporary closure.
The Arts Council Northern Ireland are updating this page regularly with advice and artists who's income has been affected should access infromation on benefits, here (although we hope changes will be made to the government policy on assitance for the self-employed).
Q) I had my work in the Multi-Matrix Showcase. When can I get it back?
We're sorry we were unable to return your work as planned but rest assured we have packed and stored it safely and will get in touch with you once we've reopened to arrange collection/return.
Q) I had work which I produced in a BPW workshop to collect, when will I be able to access it?
As above, your work is safely stored in the studio and will remain safe until we have a reopen date. Please make a note of what you have to collect and get in touch when the studio is reopened.
