Creating the Allianz Arts & Business Awards

BPW member Karen Daye-Hutchison to create prestigious Award pieces

BPW member Karen Daye-Hutchison has been very busy in the studio recently working to create the Award pieces for the Allianz Arts & Business awards 2018.

The ceremony is Northern Ireland’s premier occasion for celebrating and promoting the best partnerships across all art forms and all business sectors. Karen won the recent commission for the design and production of 16 award pieces which will reflect this year’s theme of ‘Partnership’. Having studied Fine Art at both Belfast and Manchester, Karen exhibits nationally and internationally as an artist and a jewellery maker, under the name Ghost and Bonesetter.  The award pieces will be sculptural objects, informed by her printing practice and skillful metal forming techniques.

Mary Nagele, Chief Executive, Arts & Business Northern Ireland said: “the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards 2018 are about celebrating the creativity of the local arts and business community. It is important to support local artists in the commissioning of these Awards pieces and we are delighted to be working with Karen Daye-Hutchinson and we look forward to unveiling the final pieces at the awards ceremony in January.”

We can’t wait to see the final Awards pieces when they are unveiled at the Awards ceremony in January 2018!
