Join established printmaker Josephine McCormick on this six week Etching Course.

Taking place on six consecutive Wednesday's starting on Wednesday the 1st March 6pm - 9pm.

This popular course is designed for beginners and for those with some experience of etching. During this course you will be given a ‘hands – on’ introduction to etching on copper. Etching is a medium with a long and varied history and can produce prints with great detail, richness and texture.

The aim of this course is to give you an idea of the possibilities of etching and a thorough introduction to working with different techniques. Join printmaking tutor Josephine McCormick who will guide you in learning the traditional techniques of etching using softground, hardground, sugar lift, aquatint and printing in colour with chine colle. Enjoy experimenting with etching and print your images using Belfast Print Workshops’ high quality artist inks and handmade printmaking papers. On the first session you are asked to bring along some photographs, magazine clippings, books or sketches – anything as a starting point that’ll inspire you. 

This six week evening course includes all materials for £165.
