Linda began her artistic practice four years ago at the age of 46, she is a member of Belfast Print Workshop (BPW) and became a Director on the Board at BPW in May 2014.
Linda uses various printing techniques as part of her practice including lithography, etching, monoprint and photo intaglio. All techniques were learnt through a series of workshops at BPW and Seacourt Print Workshop where the standard of tuition, delivered by established printmakers, was extremely high.
Her artistic practice is informed and inspired by autobiographical references taken from an archive of personal photographs, poetry and collected objects and mementos. Through various printmaking processes and techniques aided by photography and collage the artist seeks to explore what secrets and forgotten memories are hidden beneath the surface. Personal and family histories inform Linda's art and she often incorporates photographic or illustrative elements alongside the autographic components. Certain elements of the work are planned, however, chance and accident are embraced and enjoyed.
