Linda is a printmaker based in Belfast. She is a member of Belfast Print Workshop and an artist at the Vault Artist Studios, where she shares a building with a group of artists working across many disciplines. Linda is self-taught and has been a printmaker for 8 years. Her artistic practice moves between various printing techniques, but she favours etching on copper and polished zinc. Linda combines different print processes, often layering imagery to create colourful multi-plate prints.
After developing allergies and sensitivities to chemicals and solvents commonly used in traditional printmaking Linda is researching non-toxic “ethical” printmaking to make her studio a safe place to work; she uses inks that are non-toxic to both herself and the environment and is currently experimenting with new print processes that are less harmful.
