FIBRE is one of the most fundamental elements of two-dimensional artmaking. It is a basic component of the stretched canvas, the choice of fibre often grants a piece its tactile character and for printmakers textile is often the final outcome of their making.
The importance of fibre in the life of a printmaker cannot be underestimated from referencing it as a subject matter or medium of transference, whether natural, synthetic or imaginary fiber is what ties together works or defines them in their uniqueness.
This members exhibition puts focus on the relationship between fibre and print. This selection of work is now installed in our in-house gallery and open for viewing. The variety of pieces is an excellent display of the multi function nature of Fibre.
Some pieces are for sale and can be viewed on our www.bpw.org.uk/for-sale page and others are not for sale as they are part of our Archive.
