Anna McDonald-Aanakaa

Since graduating from BA Drawing and Print at UWE I have been spending my free time painting for the joy of the materials, and screen-printing, block printing and sewing fabric into some little handbags.

The focus of my paintings is depicting spaces and places that I’ve passed by in my daily life that have captured my imagination in some way. I am driven to make paintings of the familiar scenes that we see every day, that can sometimes go unnoticed, by a want to share these moments with others.

I enjoy mixing acrylic paint with different materials to create areas of impasto, glossy or grainy textures which add dimension to my work.
